Gypsy Wife update

Finished section 5 and next week I'll make a start on
Section 6 - lots of blocks and strips!

So here's my version so far, bear in mind not all seams
are sewn yet and it's not in a great position
on the design board but time was of the essence for the light.

A little unpicking needed on the top left hand block,
one of the burnt orange triangles is way out of shape.

Section 6 slots right under the bottom row blocks, with the strips added
I shall have the finished length and it will all begin to come together.

We have Monday as a public holiday here in NZ
to celebrate the Queen's Birthday,  I'm going to still be working
on baskets for the Gwennie Inspired Medallion.

See you all next week - happy quilting!

What a feast for the eyes. This is such a beauty. And you've managed to keep the blocks distinct (the coneflower is my favorite) among the riot of color and movement. Simply stunning.

It is so beautiful, I can't imagine myself even attempting this. You are doing a tremendous job.

Your fabric choices are just wonderful in this quilt. I'm looking forward to seeing what you will use for the stripes.

Looking gorgeous, love the fussy cutting that you have scattered through the top. Good light is hard to find at this time of year, usually by the time you think about taking a photo it is already getting dark. Have a lovely long weekend.

Wow! Absolutely stunning Maureen! I've just spent ages trying to figure out how some of those blocks fit next to others...a great puzzle :)

Looking lovely! I especially like how your 'crazy ann' block turned out! I've been sewing all sorts of other stuff, just to avoid tackling section #6!

Oh, I just love Gypsy Wife. And your version makes me love it even more. I thought of buying the pattern but that's as far as I've gotten.

Thank you, I can't send a direct note to you because you're coming up as a no reply-comment blogger, this seems to happen with Google+.

How do you quilt a gypsy wife quilt? What pattern do you use?

Wow! What a blaze of colour. The Gypsy Wife Quilt is on my to do list when I get the time as I have loved it for some time. A friend made one but it was subdued compared to your's and I love KF style colour. BTW I am looking forward to attending a workshop with KF in December!
I came to your blog via Wanda'a Exuberant Color blog so I've become a follower.
